Gerund phrase adalah frasa yang terdiri dari gerund dan modifier atau noun (phrase) atau pronoun. Noun (phrase) dan kata ganti yang digunakan, dapat berfungsi sebagai subject (of a verb), object atau subject complement dari action (aksi) atau keadaan yang dinyatakan oleh frasa tersebut.
gerund bisa dipakai sebagai subject, object, complement, preposition dan appositive.
contoh kalimatnya sebagai berikut:
1. sebagai subject: Running may be hard for some people.
2. sebagai object: They enjoy his singing.
3. sebagai complement: My bestfriend’s favorite activity is shopping.
4. sebagai preposition: They disscussed an article about telling the truth.
5. sebagai appositive: My bestfriend’s favorite activity, shopping, has made her spend much money.
